The style of the class

The type of yoga we do is Hatha Yoga, within which there are many styles and schools. This class has a gentle sense of flow and an emphasis on the breath. We begin with some basic breathing and shoulder and neck exercises. This is followed by some gentle back stretching which works towards the smooth and graceful Sivananda Surya Namaskar or Sun Exercise. The asana or physical exercises follow a basic sequence and are taught in stages. There are short pauses during the class and a longer relaxation session at the end.
